Four years ago, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser were struggling classical musicians in London.
When they first met as teenagers in Croatia, they’d developed a kind of rivalry; but here in England they were mutually frustrated with limited opportunities. Both were feeling reigned in by the expectations of classical music as they eagerly waited for their careers to take off.
So, the two cellists took a page right out of Silicon Valley and became entrepreneurs on the Internet. And with that, 2CELLOS was born.
Today, 2CELLOS is on a sold-out tour around North America playing their rock and pop covers to screaming, adoring fans. How’d they do it? 2CELLOS joined host Fred Child in the studio recently for an interview.
